For a long time I wanted to design my own fabrics, I really enjoyed creating patterns that I thought would look wonderful on a swatch of fabric. But that was before, long before, places like SpoonFlower and and the various print-on-demand shops and products became available.
Now that those options abound I decided to take a look at Zazzle.
Zazzle offers a really cool range of items for print-on-demand including assorted bags, pillows, iPhone cases and kitchen items.
I’ve heard many things about Zazzle – the products were fantastic but you had to do a lot of work to create your own store, word was it was a bit tedious! Since I don’t have as much patience as I used to I just took a deep breath and decided to look at the products and see just how troublesome creating a store really was.
And while I do agree it would be nice to streamline the process of adding items to the store I have to admit I had a really fun time seeing my artwork on Messenger Bags, Tiles, TeaPots, and Pillows!

Now I have to admit that I have had a CafePress store for many years while I was in my Cat Hair Studios Art Nouveau period. My Art Nouveau Tile has been on there for forever and I usually make a few sales around Christmas time. Overall I’ve always been happy with CafePress, except for one thing, you can only have one product/one design in the free store, in other words, I could not have different tiles with different artwork! That was a bummer! Hence my exploration into Zazzle, Zazzle it seems allows you to have the same products with different designs for no extra cost.
I expect the quality and customer service will be the same as CafePress but I do like the range of products at Zazzle.
BTW — My sister has a CafePress store for her OTTB rescue efforts – if you are horse-crazy like my sister and would like to assist her efforts, all profits go to organizations that rescue off-the-track Thoroughbreds.
Shameless plue for my sister – Ultimate Side Reins – OTTB Shop!
