New Fine Art Texture for November!

This new texture can be used as part of your commercial and personal artwork.

The file is 300 dpi and measures 12 inches x 16 inches so it a little larger than last month’s texture. This fine art texture was created by using an existing photo of a field! The image was then brought into another program and converted into paint strokes.

On the left called Fallen, is an image I created using a very similar texture. The shot of the barn (which unfortunately fell down completely a couple years ago) was manipulated a bit to make some color adjustments. Then, I duplicated this image and opened that file in Topaz Labs Impressions (my new favorite toy!) and used one of the pencil sketch filters, adjusted the setting and saved it. I copied that image and pasted it over the original barn photo – (Impressions will overwrite your image – so I use a copy to apply the filters, and I just like working on copies just in case – don’t want to overwrite my original files!).

I overlaid that new “sketched” layer and adjusted the setting so that the original image began to look like a color sketch – I only wanted the sketch to give some texture to the photo.

From their I overlaid the free texture, the layer was changed to Multiply with a low opacity. Then I adjusted the “Levels” of that layer to bring out the darker areas of the paint strokes. Then made some additional color adjustments and that was it!

Enjoy using the texture!

Please do not share the file directly, and please do not add my texture file to a package you intend to distribute for free or on that you or anyone else intends to sell. Please feel free to invite your texture loving friends to this site for free textures and tutorials!
